Into the Light: Pioneers of Black British Ballet
An exhibition tracing the rich history of Black dancers in 20th century ballet
This Black History Month, we are proud to host Black British Ballet’s exhibition Into The Light: Pioneers of Black British Ballet.
Tracing the rich history of Black dancers in 20th century British ballet, the display celebrates the trailblazers – Vincent Hantam, Christian Holder, Brenda Garratt-Glassman and many more – who managed to forge a path against huge odds.
Come and see this powerful exhibition, curated by Oxygen Arts’ Black British Ballet project, at the Mulryan Centre for Dance this month.
The full exhibition, which features audio and video interviews, will be touring libraries across the country. Find out more here.
A collaboration between Oxygen Arts’ Black British Ballet Project, Libraries Connected and English National Ballet.
