Looking ahead to our Spring Gala
The annual gala is our biggest fundraising event, with last year’s contributing over £300,000 to our overall mission of bringing world-class ballet to more people. This year’s gala, sponsored by Ecoworld Ballymore, will support this aim further, as we prepare to move into our new home at London City Island in 2019.
Hosted by Soloist dancer James Streeter, this elegant evening features special performances by our dancers, including excerpts of Akram Khan’s Dust (part of Lest We Forget, which returns to Sadler’s Wells in September), and Kenneth MacMillan’s The Sleeping Beauty, as well as Sebastian Kloborg’s Flight Mode.
Our live auction and appeal will be led by Christie’s Director and Head of Pictures, Nick Martineau, with auction prizes including tickets to Chanel’s ready to wear show in Paris and visit to Coco Chanel’s private apartment, an haute couture dress hot off the runway by Laskaris, and an original illustration by Sir Quentin Blake.
Tickets for the evening have now sold out, but there is still a chance to support our work and snap up some of the exclusive prizes on offer with our pre-event silent auction, launching this Tuesday 6 March. English National Ballet prizes include the opportunity to dine with Artistic Director Tamara Rojo, watch Nutcracker from the wings of the London Coliseum (which also includes an afternoon tea at The Dorchester for two guests), and take part in a photoshoot on the set of The Sleeping Beauty with the King and Queen before watching the ballet from the Royal Box.
Our pre-event silent auction website is now live – please visit the auction here to register and start bidding. Find out more about how you can support our work.
