Access Events
To make our ballet performances and events as accessible as possible, we offer a range of access events throughout the year.
Relaxed performances
At a relaxed performance, the environment supports and accepts noise and movement within the auditorium during the show, there is access to a chill-out space outside of the auditorium, and re-entry as and when needed is allowed. The house lights and sound levels may also be adjusted throughout the production.
Nutcracker
Thu 9 Jan, 1.30pm at the London Coliseum
This performance of the classic Christmas ballet will be in a Relaxed Environment. Audiences with access needs can join the London Coliseum Access scheme, to buy half-price tickets. Please note children under 5 are not allowed in the auditorium.
My First Ballet: Swan Lake
Thu 24 April, 1:30pm at the Peacock Theatre
A first introduction to the magical world of ballet, our production of My First Ballet: Swan Lake is a specially adapted version for children aged three upwards.
In our relaxed performance we also provide a Visual Story so people can familiarise themselves with the theatre and key details about the show in advance with additional resources available on our My First Ballet: Swan Lake resource hub here.
My First Ballet: Swan Lake Relaxed Workshop
Thu 24 April, 3:30pm – 4:30pm at the Peacock Theatre
After our relaxed performance, we will also be holding a creative families workshop in a relaxed environment. Led by English National Ballet’s highly experienced Associate Dance Artists, these workshops created especially for children will explore the wonderful music, iconic swan-inspired movement, and famous characters of My First Ballet: Swan Lake. Participants will also have the chance to get up close to the beautiful costumes and production scenery!
Tickets to this workshop will go on sale on 29 January.
