October half term programme

Ballet Club gives young people access to professional artists, opportunities to develop their dance skills and the confidence to have an artistic voice in the work they co-create.

Calling all aspiring dancers aged 9 – 12 years, who live in Newham or Tower Hamlets and love to dance!

Join us this October half term for Ballet Club, dancing and creating new moves with professional artists at English National Ballet’s state of the art studios in Canning Town. Take part in daily ballet class, explore other dance styles and put your creative skills to the test in special choreographic workshops! During the week you will also meet company dancers, gain behind the scenes insights and work towards a sharing for family and friends at the end of the week. This is an opportunity you won’t want to miss!

The programme is FREE OF CHARGE and is available for Newham or Tower Hamlets residents. Places are offered on a first come, first served basis.

Inspired by English National Ballet’s work, dancers will take part in a morning class exploring both ballet and contemporary technique followed by sessions inspired by English National Ballet repertoire. In the afternoon dancers take part in different workshops each day (previous workshops have included Wigs, Hair & Makeup for performance, costume department tour, Q&A with ENB Dancers) and choreographic sessions working towards an informal sharing for parents, guardians and carers at the end of the week.

Dates and Times

What to wear

*Please wear clothing you can move in: something stretchy is ideal and not too loose, so that you don’t get tangled up. Participants should wear soft dance slippers or dance in bare feet for class (no socks for safety reasons). All jewellery should be removed before class and we recommend that long hair is secured away from the face.

Ballet Club is generously supported by Newham Council.
